You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Seeing is believing.” It usually means NOT believing anything you can’t physically see, right?
Take a look at this verse of Scripture, quoted here from the Passion translation:
“Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.” Hebrews 11:1 TPT
What I intuit from this verse is that seeing is believing if and when we are using the right set of eyes!
Faith is all about what we haven’t seen yet. It’s about things we believe God has shown us that haven’t come to pass but we have the assurance from God in our hearts and minds that they will indeed become reality.
Think about Noah. God spoke many things to him that he believed and because he believed, he acted in faith, built a huge ark to prepare for a flood which had never happened before in history, received 2 of every living creature onto that ark along with his family, and waited for what God said would happen to happen. He was ridiculed by pretty much everyone he knew and probably had moments when he asked himself, “Am I crazy?” Nevertheless, he chose to see with eyes of faith what no one else saw, and because he did, humanity and all created things were preserved in the midst of that terrible flood.
Which set of eyes are you using to foresee your future?
I’m a life coach and something I use with all my clients is a Vision Board. Sometimes it’s also called a Dream Board. There’s something about visualizing something you hope for that activates those eyes of faith I’ve just been talking about. I see many pictures of things I believe God wants me to see so I will have faith to believe that those things will come to pass. All of us have images and metaphors that have powerful meaning for us. When we put those onto a vision board and keep it before our eyes, our faith is activated.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote to you about the word I got for 2022. The word is Suddenlies. The picture God used to show me this was a little maple tree in our front yard that suddenly, overnight, turned from green to full color – gold, oranges and reds, truly overnight. The Holy Spirit engaged with me about it and communicated that this was a sign of what he wants me to believe for this year.
I always wait on the Lord and ask what His word for the year is. Last year it was “Love Will Find a Way”. I put that word in the center of last year’s vision board and Wow, it’s amazing what love has made a way for!
I excited to see the Suddenlies the Lord will bring about this year. You can bet that this word and the maple tree will be the picture at the center of my vision board which I’ll be creating in the next few weeks.
