“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27: 13,14 NKJV
What do you see as you look toward the year ahead?
In these verses from Psalm 27:13,14 you get an idea about how to see with eyes of faith. First comes waiting on the Lord. As you wait on Him, He gives you His strength and His perspective – His way of seeing. When you see life through His eyes, your heart can take courage because there’s NO FEAR in the way He sees anything. When fear is banished, faith can take its place so you can then see with eyes of faith!
On New Year’s Eve every year I take time to wait on the Lord to hear what His thoughts are about the new year. This year He gave me this word for 2021 – LOVE WILL FIND A WAY!
When He dropped this one into my mind, I knew it was Him. It exploded inside of me! I’ve created a vision board with this word in the center so I can keep it in the forefront of my mind, in my way of seeing everything.
I attended an Immanuel Journaling group this week. This type of journaling is a dialogue with God – very powerful! I will share part of my journal entry with you now:
“Jesus, I am so very thankful for the word you’ve given me for this year – Love Will Find a Way. When I hear it I feel a quickening in my chest, like my heart is jumping for joy! I feel like I’m inhaling hope for 2021, exhaling the old air of 2020. I feel powerful faith like a surge of energy rising up through my body from my toes to my head. When it reaches my eyes, my sight is enabled to see with eyes of faith those things that love will make a way for!”
He replied: “You are feeling what I want you to feel! You will see My goodness in the land of the living in many different ways!”
Then I remembered Ps 27 quoted above. Honestly I can’t wait to see what love will make a way for!
What is your word for the year, if you have one? If you don’t I offer you mine as well as that Scripture in Ps. 27. I’m praying for you that you will experience the goodness of God in the land of the living in a multitude of ways!
The confinement we all have experienced in 2020 can cause us to see only the walls around us. Let these words I’ve shared today open windows and doors for you into a broad place, enabling you to see with His eyes!
