Dear friends,
Wherever you are this Thanksgiving, whoever you are with, I pray that you will take this opportunity to give thanks for your blessings, and to eat pie!
My mother in law had the most incredible recipe for pumpkin pie that became my go-to for Thanksgivings in our family ever after.
She imparted and passed down much more than her recipes! She was a mature woman of character and kindness – full of love and joy. She died young from cancer but her loving caring ways were passed on to her son, Michael, whom I was fortunate enough to marry! I’m thanking God this holiday for him and his family legacy!
I’m also so thankful for my own Mom, still living on the farm in Ohio at 86 years of age! She is also a woman of loving kindness, she’s like an oasis for me and many others. So grateful for her life and legacy of love, and for her love of nature and the land which she passed on to us all.
I have a very long list of things to be thankful for – I’m not waiting for Thanksgiving Day to make my list, I’m making it now and thanking God every day throughout the day.
Gratitude is meant to be a way of life, not just an occasional occurrence.
The principle of sowing and reaping applies here – when you sow gratitude, you harvest more gratitude. When you express gratitude to others, you will reap the appreciation of others.
Above all, be grateful to God the source of all blessings!
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalms 100:4,5 NIV
I leave you with this benediction with a prayer for blessings to abound in your life now and even more in the days ahead:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise him all creatures here below; praise him above ye heavenly hosts; praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen!
With much love and gratitude for your life, ‘
Terri
