Dear friends,
I’ve been thinking today about you all today as we face this nationwide, worldwide crisis with the coronavirus. This verse of Scripture has been coming to me, one where people from another era would have been experiencing some unusually difficult circumstances.
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer. Habakkuk 3:17-19 NLT
We might personalize it like this:
Even though the nation and the world are in a state of emergency because of the coronavirus…
Even though I have to stay home with all my kids off school for who knows how long…
Even though I have to be home alone for who knows how long…
Even though I am sick for who knows how long…
…You can fill in your own “even thoughs”…
YET! Even So! I can be sure that God is with me!
Because God is with me, I will be joyful – He loves me, He is the God of my salvation, He is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer – I can walk through anything because He walks with me.
Thinking of you and praying for you today,
Terri
